Mmmm Breakfast

I have to confess until I first started Weight Watchers breakfast was not a meal I enjoyed. I think I had the illusion if I didn't eat I wouldn't put on weight. All those wasted years of depriving myself. Sometimes on WW it feels like you don't stop eatting, especially in the early days when I had more points to enjoy.
Anyhow, thought I would share a breakfast recipe I love that I found in the Womans Weekly 21 day Wonder diet cookbook (great recipes in here). This recipe makes enough for 6 servings. Keep in an airtight container.
Bran and Cranberry Muesli
2 points per 1/3 cup serve
1 cup rolled oats
3/4cup All-Bran
1/4cup dried cranberries

1. Combine oats, bran and cranberries in a small bowl to make muesli.
2. Place 1/3 cup serve in bowl and top with 1/2 cup blueberries.
I add 1/2 tub french vanilla Yoplait Forme Yogurt for an extra 1/2 point.

I find this stays with me for hours but doesn't weigh me down like some cereals I have tried. Its also delicious pouring everything in the bowl and leaving overnight and is a bircher type muesli. Yum....

  1. Hi Leanne

Wow this looks delicious!! And your blog looks great, too. Congratulations on you're amazing weight loss. What an inspiration!

I totally agree with you about how you have to look after yourself before you look after others properly. Took me a while to learn that one.

Nice to meet you and Happy New Year!

  2. Hi Lesley, lovely to "meet"you. I love your blog too. Your before and after pics are inspiring. I can so relate to the holiday pics! I love your photo collages, how do you do them?
As mothers and nuturers I think many of us with weight problems struggle with looking after ourselves don't we? We think we are doing the right thing putting everyone elses needs before our own. I have battled with this for a long time and wish I had applied this earlier.

  5. Hi Leanne! You're following my blog! That was a nice surprise for me this evening, so thanks. And even better for you, you're lucky number 30. That means you win... um... ME! Yay!

I'm looking forward to reading all about your life in 2010... and sharing the odd recipe too. That breakfast looks amazing - you've inspired me to share my current favourite breakfast in the coming week.

Those photo collages are done in Publisher. You just arrange all the pictures how you want them, then Ctrl A to select them all. Then there's 2 little interlocking-y squares that come up somewhere near the bottom of the picture. You click on that and it locks all of the pictures together as one.

To put that picture in your blog, you have to save the collage as a picture. To do that you just right click on it, and click on 'Save as Picture'.

  6. I love your blog Linda,it was interesting to read how different the education system is in Victoria, I teach in Qld. Thanks for the tips re photo collages, too cool!
